After two and a half weeks...

It is incredible how fast time passes by. Our little Sofia is now almost three weeks old and everything is starting to get more and more settled. We have gone through a tough first week with me having Mastitis and bareley being able to get up from bed, with almost 40 degrees fever and pain in my entire body. A ten-day cure through Antibiotics helped me get better and I really have to thank my second half, Raul, who helped basically with everything, even bringing Sofia to my bed, so I could feed her.
After a couple of days I started feeling much better, which was a huge relief! However, somehow my milk supply went so low, that little Sofia needed to get mainly formula after every breastfeeding. And - who can blame her, since the bottle is so much easier to drink from, she got a little lazy and we are now working on getting my milk supply back up and her to get motivated to drink from me again. But I must say she is doing great and I am hopeful that everything will be normal soon.

Other than these little hick-ups during those first weeks, I am so thankful that everything else went well. The birth was a wonderful experience, of course not without any pain - but without any complications whatsoever. We got a healthy baby girl, who is such an angel during days and nights, and feels like a miracle to watch her on every move she takes. Her funny faces and her sounds while sleeping are indescribably cute!

Today I gave her a bath and she really enjoyed it this time - I even got a little smile, while she was pedaling her legs under the water :)
 
Last weekend we had a very nice couple of days, as my family gave us a surprise visit! I am really thankful for all the support during the last couple of weeks as I have been talking with either my mum or dad almost every day. We spend three days in Lund with beautiful weather and Sofia took her first little trips outside the house. We took a walk to downtown Lund, we spend a nice time at Stadsparken, took a walk around Nova Lund and even around Dalby Stenbrott, where Sofia slept in her baby wrap all the way.
Lexa had a good time pushing Sofia in her pram and we even got to celebrate my dad's birthday in a restaurant, which Sofia managed perfectly without any complaints at all.
Once my family left, we realized that we got a full fridge, which saved us some trips to the supermarket this week. Thank you for all!

First week !!

Sofia has turned 1 week old !!
We have survived those midnight calls, but I have to be honest... Lisa is the one waking up most of the time. I guess it is this mum instinct that at every single sigh, she is awake and ready to feed little Sofia.

It has been a intense time, with moments of not knowing why she is crying for. But with the support of our friends and families, we are overcoming those tough moments.
I must say, that we are very happy with the health system here in Sweden. We feel very lucky to go through all this in this country. All the midwives have been very useful and caring. Lisa had a couple of days with fever, but the doctors have been very accurate on knowing what Lisa is going through. So today she is feeling much better and consequently the rest of the family :)

We had our first outdoors walk with our pram (which now that I see it... it looks like a tank controlled by a minion!) The weather has been wonderful and very warm.So taking Muffin for a ride has been possible and she really loves to be inside her tank :)

Today, we gave her the first bath and she managed it like a champion! She didn't complain (too much), it is always good to give her our little finger so she can suck it and be happy hehe. Therefore, she enjoyed her bath and we totally loved to share these magic moments.

Napping

There is absolutely nothing better than having an afternoon nap with your daughter. It feels wonderful!
Waking up with her cute breathing and sighs... uff tough to type this feeling down.

It has been now 5 days since she was born and time passes so fast. Even though she is sleeping most of the time, those few seconds when she is awake (and not crying) and staring at you, hmmm... so nice!


She has started to look around the apartment, but mainly at us. Whenever she lays on our arms, a constant eye-catch starts.

But when the eye-lids get heavy and the tiredness comes back, little Sofia suddenly vanishes into her deepest dreams. Extending her arms like showing surrender and I can totally understand her, it's really a lot of things to take in during her first days of life.

Ser papá?

Por fácil que suene, por común que se escuche hoy en día... no hay sentimiento que te pueda definir el hecho de que "vas a ser papá". En que momento dije que sí !!! jaja... obviamente lo dije, pero el momento en que te cae el veinte y reflexionas de lo que estas haciendo es inexplicable. Se llamen nervios, ansiedad o lo que sea, pero estar esperando ese momento, es algo gira en tu cabeza todo el tiempo.

Me he dado cuenta que reflexionar acerca de mi vida ha sido cada vez más fácil y más frecuente. Son más los días que miro alrededor y me pregunto: cómo es que llegué hasta acá? Y sin duda alguna estos últimos 4 años se han ido volando, pero a su vez han creado tantos momentos increíbles.

Todos esos momentos no son nada comparados al momento que hoy estoy viviendo, en el cual inicia otra nueva etapa y que estoy ansioso por explorar y disfrutar.

Solo me queda decir... Muffin, te estoy esperando :)

Everyone is waiting...

After a long journey we are now facing the last week of pregnancy and we cannot wait to finally meet our new little family member. Bags are packed, diapers are bought and even bunny here is patiently waiting :) The due date (May 13th) is slowly approaching, but let's see when little Muffin (no that is not going to be her name!) decides to enter our world...
